Chatham County Jail

Meals

Interview with Charlie

JM: How many meals did you get per day?
Charlie: 3

JM: How would you rate the food?
Charlie: 0 They give you a extremely small amount and the really messed up thing was once the Georgia state goverment came to check up on the jail and suddenly we get twice the amount of food that day! So I know people are getting under fed! Also the food had no spice at all!

JM: Did you have any favorite/least favorite meals?
Charlie: chicken was best, It had the trade value of gold in there!

JM: Were there any other snacks offered outside of meals?
Charlie: Yes but was very expensive to buy. 80 cents for the 12 cent Ramone noodles!! Thats crazy and people had to buy food because they under feed you sooo bad. People on the out putting money on your books were told that the prices of food were the same as in the free world! What a lie

Yes Charlie is correct and on top of this the unit 5D1 has no one supervising so the inmates who have no commissary money steal from the other inmates. What are we paying for as taxpayers and isn't our prison system supposed to be based on rehabilitation. Why are they condoning theft when most of them are in for that same crime? And where are the books that are supposed to be available? If you send a love on a book they might get it but then again since the guards sign for it maybe they should be in lockup also for theft.
